Principles of Adlerian Psychology

Richard Meeks will introduce the fundamental principles of Adlerian [Individual, i.e., “Holistic”] Psychology. Richard is a therapist in private practice and is past president of the PSAS Board. He also teaches Adlerian Psychology at Antioch University.

We will explore how Individual Psychology’s core ideas concerning motivation and human nature form the basis for the “Third Force” of Humanistic Psychology, and how this differs from psychoanalytic and behavioral models of understanding.

The forum is free, and CE hours are available for a small fee.

Learning objectives:

Participants will :
1) Learn about the fundamental principles behind Alfred Adler’s model of Individual Psychology
2) Have an opportunity to explore and discuss how they relate to current
developments in psychology and the social sciences
3) Have an opportunity to explore and discuss how they may relate to their own personal and professional lives

WHEN ~ Friday, October 4, 2019, 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. The PSAS Board meets
6:15 – 7:15 p.m. Please time your arrival accordingly.

HOW MUCH ~ Free, and everyone is welcome. CE fees are $10/hr. for
members, $15/hr. for others, and donations are also welcome.
