First Friday Forum

Topic: “What Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood can teach us, especially at the time of uncertainty and isolation: Won’t You Be My Neighbor?

Beyond religions, beyond races and the colors of the people, beyond political parties, beyond age differences and sexual orientations, and even beyond mankind…. Yet so fitting into the needs of all of us, especially during prolonged social isolation, with doubts and uncertainties….

While stepping out of your home, won’t you, won’t you be my neighbor?

Please join us at the free First Friday Forum, on June 4th 2021, from 7:30-9:30 p.m, on “What Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood can teach us, especially at the time of uncertainty and isolation: Won’t You Be My Neighbor?“, moderated by Jessica C. Hsieh.  Highlights of the documentary film “Won’t You Be My Neighbor (2018)” will be viewed together in the first section of the Forum, followed by small group discussions, Q&A, reflections, and suggestions for actions.

Everyone is welcome.  Upon RSVP, you will receive your individual registration link for this Forum presentation and discussion.  Your RSVP will allow the meeting host and moderator to plan ahead and assign you into small group discussion exercises during the Forum presentation.  Please click on the link below to register:

The forum is free, and two (2) CEU hours are available for this presentation for a small fee.  PSAS members enjoy discounted CEU rates; for non-members, we charge $30 for 2 CEU hours.  If you do desire to obtain the CEU hours for this presentation, please do make sure you reach out to the PSAS Coordinator via: psasadler@gmail.com, to request for it.  We will forward you with information related to the payment methods.  CEU Certificate will be provided in either printed or electronical formats.  Those of you who do not need CEU hours, but would feel like to offer donation to us in organizing this forum discussion, are of course greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Moderator info:  Jessica Hsieh, is the Coordinator and Parent Educator at the Puget Sound Adlerian Society.  She is a certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator at Positive Discipline Association, and also a certified SMPG facilatator with the Supporting Emotional Needs of the Gifted Association (SENG). She holds a Master degree of Psychology from Boston University, focused both on clinical and social psychology tracks. Jessica was an intake assessor at the BRTC clinic at UW (3 years), and a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (currently not in practice) working for the community mental health treatment network in City of Philadelphia, PA (6 years).  She received Certificate of Recognition for Skilled Cognitive Therapy in Community Setting from the Beck Initiative, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.

This will be our 9th online/video conference in order to coping with the Covid-19 Home Stay Order since March 2020.  We look forward to receiving your RSVP (registration link is shown above), and seeing you at 7:30pm at the first Friday of June!
